smartfin.fyi is operated by SmartFin ("we", "us"). This page covers the data the site handles. Who operates the Service is set out in the Terms & Conditions.
There are no accounts, logins or payments. We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or anything else that identifies you directly.
A CSV file uploaded to the Simulator is read by your browser. It is never sent to us, and closing the tab discards it.
When you pick a stock in the Simulator, its ticker symbol, for example "AAPL", is sent to our server so we can fetch its price history from a third-party market data provider. The request is not linked to who you are.
We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: which pages are visited, the referring site, device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off in our account, so this data is not used to build advertising profiles or shared with advertising networks for that purpose.

On your first visit you are asked whether to accept analytics cookies. The site works the same either way.
If you decline, or before you answer: no cookies are set. Google Analytics records the page view but cannot link it to any other visit or recognise you later. We do not fingerprint your browser or device to get around that.
If you accept: Google Analytics sets cookies, which lets us count separate visitors and returning visits. It still does not tell us who you are.
To change your answer, clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser, then revisit. Browser privacy settings and content blockers can limit analytics further.
Our hosting providers record standard technical logs for each request, such as IP address, time and browser user-agent, for security, abuse prevention and debugging. They are kept only as long as those purposes need and are not used to profile visitors.
AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude can use SmartFin's calculators through smartfin.fyi/mcp. The assistant sends only the numbers needed for the answer, such as an amount, a rate or a stock symbol. They are used to calculate the result and are not stored or logged.
The site uses third-party cloud hosting for its pages and servers, which receives the connection data described under Server logs, and Google Analytics, described above. Each handles that data under its own privacy practices.
The site is for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The site is available worldwide, and the data described here may be processed on servers outside your country.
We may update this policy. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top changes. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
